Aloe vera
Research has shown that aloe vera gel, a super emollient and emulsifier, moisturises human skin faster than water. Other studies indicate that aloe may produce an effect on skin similar to that of retinoic acid. Yet, unlike retinoic acid, the polysaccharides in aloe vera are not irritating to the skin. Aloe vera also has the ability to moisturise without excluding oxygen from the skin in the way petroleum-based man-made chemicals can.
